New Lights and More Parking

Construction-Header
Beginning Apr. 1 new LED roadway pole lights will be installed on Barry Street, Lyndon Avenue, Lunt Street and Chestnut Street, all located near Allstate Arena and the Rosemont Park District Recreation Center.

Construction is expected to continue through July 1. Streets will remain accessible at all times to traffic, according to officials.

“There may be short road closures to move equipment,” Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd., Senior Project Manager Mark E. Wrzeszcz told the Journal & Topics this week.

Additionally, new LED parking lighting will be installed in lots on the same streets between Touhy and Lunt avenues.

Rosemont trustees approved a proposal from H & H Electric Inc. to construct and install the new street and parking lot light system.

Officials note the new lighting with the latest in LED technology will provide energy savings of up to 80% and each light is expected to last over 100,000 hours.

Currently, a new parking lot is being constructed at the corner of Lunt and Lyndon avenues to handle spill over parking from Allstate Arena.
