Future Home Of Koch Foods
Members of the Rosemont Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday, April 12th were presented with this and other artist’s renderings for the proposed new 45,000 sq. ft. headquarters for Koch Foods, which plans to move from Park Ridge.
The site is located south of Balmoral Avenue along an extended Pearl Street and the Tri-State Tollway. A new 163-room boutique hotel and two or three restaurants are planned for the overall development.
Koch is seeking Village zoning variations to allow a 60-ft. tall structure and several exterior signs. It also is proposing a roof sign that travelers on airplanes can view from the air.
Koch, a chicken processor whose clients include restaurants like Ruby Tuesdays, TGIF and Applebee’s, was founded in 1984. It currently employs 14,000 people and generates $3 billion in revenues annually. Between 50 and 60 company employees will work out of the three-story building.
