Rosemont’s entertainment district will kick off the holiday season with the opening of the Chicago Wolves Ice Rink and “Light Up The Park” tree lighting event Friday, Nov. 24.
“Rosemont looks forward to the opening of our ice rink every year,” said Mayor Brad Stephens. “The additions of the ice rink and spectacular holiday lights transform our entertainment district into a winter wonderland and help make it a must-visit destination during this festive season.”
The NHL-sized ice rink will officially open for the season at 11 a.m. Visitors can enjoy various holiday festivities throughout the day as part of “Light Up The Park” including visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, ice carving, and free horse-drawn sleigh rides around the park.
Mayor Stephens will arrive at 5:30 p.m. to introduce performances by the Chicago Skates Figure Skating Synchronized Skating Team before officially illuminating the park with a display of more than 80,000 holiday lights throughout the park. The ice rink will close for the evening at 11 p.m.
The ice rink will be open every day from Nov. 24 through Jan. 4, 2018. In addition to special holiday hours, the rink will also be open on select Sundays through Feb. 25. Admission to the ice rink is free. Guests are invited to bring their own skates. Skate rentals are also available onsite for $8.
