British singer-songwriter James Arthur will perform acoustic selections of his hit songs during "Eric & Kathy's Concert for the Kids" at Rosemont's MB Financial Park entertainment district, 5501 Park Place, Wednesday, June 21, at 7 p.m.
Hosted by 101.9 FM The Mix morning host Eric Ferguson, the free concert will raise funds for "Eric & Kathy's Kids" benefiting Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. The concert will be Arthur's first Chicago area appearance before joining OneRepublic and Fitz and The Tantrums for the 2017 Honda Civic Tour beginning July 7.
"Eric & Kathy's Concert for the Kids" serves as the initial fundraising event for Eric & Kathy's Kids for Lurie Children's Hospital, slated to air the week of Aug. 14 on The Mix, sponsored by MB Financial Bank.
Admission to the June 21 concert is free. MB Financial Bank representatives will be on-site at MB Financial Park collecting donations for Lurie Children's Hospital. Parking is available in the MB Financial Park parking garage and is free with validation.
Guests can enjoy food and beverage tents on the park's great lawn, with 10 percent of tent sales donated to the Eric & Kathy's Kids for Lurie Children's Hospital.
After winning the ninth season of the popular reality television vocal competition "The X Factor," Arthur's debut single "Impossible" became the show's most successful song of all time, achieving more than 3 million downloads.
Arthur's second album, "Back from the Edge," was released in October, 2016 and features his Platinum-certified hit single "Say You Won't Let Go," which has been streamed more than 1 billion times around the globe. Following the success of "Say You Won't Let Go," Arthur recently premiered the music video for his new single, "Can I Be Him," in May 2017.
A second "Eric & Kathy's Concert for the Kids" is scheduled to take place later this summer. Additional details regarding the second concert will be announced at a later date.
