Rosemont Restaurant Week 2018

This year’s Rosemont Restaurant Week will move beyond last year’s location of Parkway Bank Park to offer more options to area foodies.

“It was a success last year, so we decided this year we would expand it out to the whole village of Rosemont,” said Michelle McDonald, Parkway Bank Park event coordinator. “We’ve got 13 restaurants that ended up wanting to participate this year.”

She said that each restaurant has independently come up with its own menu and many will offer both a lunch and dinner menu during the week of March 4 to March 11. Each menu is a set price for a certain number of courses with specific options diners can choose from. While not as expansive as the entire menu, diners will be given a taste of what the restaurant is all about.

Since restaurants within Parkway Bank Park saw an uptick in customers thanks to restaurant week last year, McDonald worked to get new eateries on board for this year.

“We just kind of wanted to open this up,” she said.

McDonald said the week-long event encourages new patronage at some of the restaurants. While many people stick to tried and true favorites, Rosemont has a plethora of dining options.

McDonald said the week was inspired by Chicago restaurant week in February.

“It’s very similar to that, actually,” she said. “We’re just pulling people into the village of Rosemont and showing them what we have to offer here.”

Based on last year’s event, McDonald expects more people to filter into Rosemont as the dining experience goes village wide.

“Last year, the venues here in Rosemont, the restaurants they all saw that they got a lot of extra people in due to restaurant week,” McDonald said. “A lot of people...let us know that they really enjoyed it and wanted to come back this year.”

The village utilized social media and other tools to get the word out about restaurant week to local residents and businesses to entice people to dine at area restaurants during the special, promotional week. McDonald said often when patrons visit Parkway Bank Park, they have a specific dining destination in mind, but an event like restaurant week gives diners a push and special occasion to try something new.

“There are 12 venues here, so there’s a lot to offer,” she said. “Looking into the restaurant week website, they’re able to see the different menus of different foods that these restaurants offer and they may want to try.”

Restaurants participating in this year’s Rosemont Restaurant Week include Adobe Gilas, Bub City, Five Roses, Fogo de Chao, Gino’s East, Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse, Kings Dining and Entertainment, Hofbrauhaus, Liberty Tavern, Moretti’s, Morton’s Steakhouse, Park Tavern and The Ram.
