When it first hit television screens in 2016, “Stranger Things” quickly rose to the forefront of the cultural zeitgeist. Now, the fun of the quirky, spooky, ‘80s-era show is coming to Rosemont during Stranger Con, a “Stranger Things” convention June 23-24, 2018.
“Stranger Things” fans from across the Midwest will converge on Rosemont’s Westin O’Hare for the weekend in celebration of the fan-favorite program. The Netflix show’s stars will be in attendance, too, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Shannon Purser (Barb), and Joe Keery (Steve Harrington).
An undisclosed celebrity guest will preside over Stranger Con as master of ceremonies.
The convention aims to have a smaller, more personal feel. Like other conventions, it features autograph and photo opportunities, panels, and a small vendor area for merchandise.
The convention also features a costume competition, trivia contest, and ‘80s karaoke party.
More details are expected to emerge in the coming months as organizers pull together the final lineup and schedule for the event.
