For those planning spring and summer activities, the new Rosemont Park District summer brochure outlining classes, programs, pool times, special events, camps and more for the year ahead will come in handy.
Just released, the brochure is available in print at the park district office at 6140 N. Scott St., Rosemont, or online at rosemontparkdistrict.com.
To help in planning, officials note Rosemont and Des Plaines park districts maintain an exchange of service agreement whereby residents can utilize each town’s park service resources and programs on a resident fee basis.
Rosemont Park District Program Director Ralph L. Stephens said most of the programs, class options and special events remain the same this year as last due to their ongoing popularity.
In addition to a variety of classes including racquetball, swimming lessons, basketball, ceramics and gymnastics, there are several special events planned for the year including a candy craft event to be held from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Apr. 20 for children ages 5 to 9 at Margaret J. Lange Park.
Other special events include family bingo nights which will be held May 4, June 29, Aug. 24, Sept. 21 and Oct. 14. Scouting information along with senior trips and classes are also available.
Information about the annual Rosemont day camp which begins in June for children entering preschool through eighth grade in the fall can be found in the brochure. The day camp runs through July 17 at Margaret J. Lange Park.
Rosemont residents can also participate in Leyden Township classes, activities and programs at the Leyden Community Center, 2620 N. Mannheim Rd., Franklin Park.
