CHA Weaves A Magic Spell With Biggest Summer Show Yet

NBC Star Financial Advisor, Jean Chatzky, Keynote Presenter;
New Muvico Megaplex Open

When the Craft and Hobby Show opens its doors on Friday, July 18, through Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention and Conference Center in Rosemont, Illinois, it will be the richest show yet, in terms of:

• The most expansive, comprehensive exhibit ever;
• Buyers from all corners of the industry in attendance; and
• educational content.

Art Materials, Fabric, General Crafts and Scrapbooking & PaperCrafts are the four sparkling new sections debuting at this show. These areas dramatically broaden the scope of the show and are clear examples of the diversity of product available.
More than 5,000 buyers, sellers, educators and celebrities are expected to take part in the summer, 2008 event.

“The CHA organizers have created that perfect balance,” said one industry expert, after reviewing the summer 2008 plans. “It’s all about business, from providing management intelligence and a highly active trading floor, yet also ensuring that attendees are having fun from the moment they enter until they depart.”

One person who always means business is Money Magazine’s editor-at-large and NBC Today Show financial guru, Jean Chatzky, who will deliver the keynote address, “Make Money, Not Excuses.” One of the nation’s most highly respected personal financial advisors, Ms. Chatzky will share a wealth of knowledge and information that can help everyone from entrepreneurs to corporate chieftains.

When does the fun start? Right from the get-go, when attendees enter CHA’s Web site, www.chashow.org. In order to register, the site visitor is invited to play a craft and hobby version of Monopoly, with the potential of winning prizes in multiple trips around the board. And this Monopoly game has no Jail!

Networking opportunities will abound, from the reception prior to Ms. Chatzky’s presentation, throughout the expansive show floor, in the comprehensive educational sessions, right up until the last hour of the show.

For even more fun, the newest jewel in Rosemont’s crown of entertainment facilities is open now, ready to welcome CHA participants.

Christopher R. Stephens, general manger of the Stephens Center said:
“We hope our CHA guests will take a stroll over to our incredible, brand new 18-screen, state-of-technology Muvico megaplex movie, just a few blocks directly west of the Stephens Center. After working hard at CHA, participants can kick back and even enjoy dinner at the restaurant, or order bar service and food to be served right in the theater, while luxuriating in overstuffed, extra-wide stadium seating as you take in one of the hottest new movies that’s out. It’s great fun.”

In partnership with Sony, the new Muvico projection technology is four time better than high definition.

“It is a privilege to welcome the Craft and Hobby Show to the Stephens Center in Rosemont,” said Mayor Bradley A. Stephens. “We are confident that exhibitors and buyers alike will find the highest quality of service available in the industry here at the Stephens Center and throughout Rosemont. It’s our mission to provide a fantastic experience for everyone associated with CHA. We appreciate your business.”

“Welcome to Rosemont!” the mayor concluded.
