The steel skeletal structures of three buildings that are part of The Park at Rosemont entertainment district have been put in place along the Tri-State Tollway south of the Muvico Theater signifying that progress on the $30 million development is moving forward toward a February 2012 opening.
One of the three structures currently under construction at the north end of the district already has a brick veneer in place. And, according to Mayor Bradley Stephens, workers have begun the process of grading the earth where the district’s four season outdoor plaza will be located in preparation of public ice skating there beginning this November.
So far, six lease agreements for entertainment-related businesses have been signed with one more spot available. Committed to operate there are Toby Keith’s “I Love This Bar & Grill, King’s Bowling center, Lansdowne Irish Pub, Taverna Opa Greek restaurant, Adobe Gilcas Mexican restaurant, and a yet unnamed martini bar. Other businesses located just outside the boundaries of The Park at Rosemont will likely be added in the near future.
Plans call for a “soft opening” of the entertainment district in February and a grand opening in April.
