A one-of-a-kind Haunted House will open on Sept. 30 in Rosemont that’s sure to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
“Screams in The Park at Rosemont” will be open to the public from Sept. 30 through Halloween next to the village’s new entertainment district that is currently under construction east of the Tri-State Tollway and south of the Muvico Theater. The Haunted House will actually be a custom-built structure that will allow visitors to walk through in small groups of five or six. It’s designed to give teenagers and adults the scare of their lives all in the name of fun during the Halloween season. A special day will be set aside where small children will be able to visit with the lights on. There will be a charge to visit the Haunted House. That cost has not yet been announced.
According to Mayor Bradley Stephens, the village is allocating as much as $100,000 toward the purchase of props and other expenses to make sure the Haunted House is a great success. The village will also be responsible for security and traffic control.
