Rosemont's New Haunted Attraction

If the name doesn’t send a shiver down your spine, a drive by the site of Rosemont’s new Haunted House probably will.
Heading northbound on the drive that leads into Rosemont’s new entertainment district, one can’t help but notice something unusual: a gigantic doorway to what appears to be a ghoulish castle topped off with a huge skull with its entrance flanked by skeletons.
The setting is all part of Screams In The Park at Rosemont that’s scheduled to open on Saturday, Oct. 1.
“It will be one of the top haunts in Chicagoland,” promised Mayor Bradley Stephens. “I’d like to have it every year as long as the tenants’ group and promotional staff of the district thinks it’s a worthwhile event. I think it will be.”
Stephens said the haunted house will be suitable for youths 13 years of age and older.
“It’s quite gory and really scary,” he said. “And that’s what people rave about. I think it will really attract a lot of people.”
Screams will remain open through Oct. 31---Halloween.
