Operation North Pole Preparing For Annual Holiday Event
Rosemont plays a big role in Operation North Pole’s annual holiday event, which delivers a day of joy to local families who have children battling a life-threatening disease.
On Saturday, Dec. 12, after the registered participants board a train in Des Plaines and travel northwest and back, they will be escorted from the Des Plaines train station to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Rd., Rosemont. The main floor ballroom will be transformed into a “Winter Wonderland”.
Lunch will be served. Children will have their faces painted, can play in the mini-hockey rink and share their holiday wishes with Santa. Girls can even get their nails done.
Operation North Pole’s organizers seek volunteers for the following tasks this week in preparing for the big day.
