Outlet Mall Set to Welcome New Stores
Outlets Set To Welcome New Stores
Instead of waiting until spring 2017, it looks as if Nordstrom Rack will open its new anchor store this fall at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont, according to outlet officials.
Officials said the new store located on the second floor could open by late September.
This is in addition to the 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5 ribbon cutting ceremony at the mall featuring Rosemont Mayor Bradley Stephens welcoming a new clothing store, Vineyard Vines.
Fashion Outlets Marketing Manager Katie Walsh said that traffic in the mall is up this year.
“It’s continuing to go up, not by a large percentage, but up. We don’t have the full figures now, but it has gone up each year since we opened,” Walsh said. The outlets opened Aug. 1, 2013.
Walsh said the Florida-based Villagio restaurant, which closed its second floor restaurant in the mall just after the 2015 holidays stating it would move to the center’s first floor by this summer, decided instead not to renew its lease. Villagio vacated the space where Nordstrom Rack will go.
Fashion Outlets of Chicago is owned by the Macerich Company.
