Park District Special Events


Rosemont Park District announced the following events. Register when necessary. Times may differ for age groups. Facilities include Barry Street Recreation Center, Dunne Park, Margaret J. Lange, Stephens Athletic Complex. Call Rosemont Park District for more information at 847-823-6685.

Easter Egg Hunt

Rosemont children are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at Rosemont School on Saturday, March 24. Meet Peter Cottontail in front of the Rosemont School Gym with your favorite Easter basket. This free event includes Easter eggs, prizes and candy. No registration is needed. Times are:
Noon for infants to 23 months; 12:30 p.m. for 2 to 3 year olds; 1 p.m. for 4 year olds, preschool and Kindergarteners; 1:30 p.m. for first and second graders and 2 p.m. for third and fourth graders. Rosemont School is located at  6101 Ruby St.

Easter Egg Hunt at Barry Rec Center

Registration is open until March 25 for the Thursday, March 29 Easter Egg Hunt at Barry Rec Center. Residents can participate for free, but there is a non-resident per child fee. Times are: 5:30 p.m. for infants to 23 months old; 5:45 p.m. for 2 to 3 year olds; 6 p.m. for 4 year olds, preschool and kindergarteners; 6:15 for first and second graders; 6:30 p.m. for third and fourth graders and 6:45 p.m. for fifth through eighth graders. Barry Rec Center is located at 7128 Barry St.

Spring Gardening & Butterflies

Plant flowers and vegetables in a cup and bring them home to start your own gardens during the Rosemont Park District Spring Gardening program from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 30. The program, which will be held in the Thompson Room at Margaret L. Lange Park, is geared for children 5 and up. Registration is open April 2-21. There is a fee for both residents and non-residents.
