Residents Bowl A Strike For Helping Hand
Rosemont residents raised over more than $4,000 during the March 10th "Spare Some Change" fundraiser for the Village’s not-for-profit Helping Hand organization, which helps residents in need.
The event was held at King's Bowl in MB Financial Park. There was an admission fee of $16.82 which provided unlimited bowling, pizza, and soda with music by a DJ, and cash bar. Many goodie bags and prizes were also raffled off during the fundraiser.
More than 100 people including local residents attended and showed their support for a great cause that was all organized by Amanda Cargola.
Helping Hand assists Village residents in need. It began helping families during the holiday season with donated gift certificates, food baskets and more, but has expanded to serve those in need year-round, officials note.
Today, Helping Hand provides monetary assistance for school lunches, field trips, day camp and school physicals. It also provides aid for families after a fire, family death or other hardship. Helping Hand is not government funded. For more information, go to rosemont.com/community/rosemont-helping-hand. For those in need of help, call the Helping Hand hotline at 847-825-4404 ext. 376.
