Rosemont Journal

Two popular Chicago Cubs baseball players will hold camps in the Journal-area.

Three-time all-star Anthony Rizzo will lead a camp Monday, July 31 at The Ballpark at Rosemont, 27 Jennie Finch Way. The camp has already sold out, but will be for kids in grades 1-8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to boys and girls.

Rizzo and the camp instructors will provide lectures and teach fundamental baseball skills (in different stations), run contests and play games. The campers will be put in small groups dictated by age to ensure each child gets the most instruction possible.

Kyle Schwarber will run a similar camp Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Maine South High School. His camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Park Ridge school. Schwarber’s camp is still open for boys and girls in grades 1-8.

Javier Baez will host a camp July 20 at Evanston Township High School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
