Rosemont Parks Offer Events For Kids & Families

In addition to the many fall programs provided by the Rosemont Park District, some planned special events will take place soon geared toward young children and for families.
One program, “Day at the Park” for kids includes working on art projects, playing in the game room, learning games and music.
Registration for “Day at the Park” held at Margaret J. Lange Park, for children in kindergarten through third grade, must be done at least one week prior to the event date. If a minimum number (eight) of children are not registered, the date will be cancelled.
Future “Day at the Park” dates are Nov. 5, Feb. 3 and Apr. 13. The program runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is led by the park district’s Cheryl Molini and Joanne Hernandez. The cost is $8 for residents and $12 for non-residents.
The “Junior Day at the Park” is for children aged 3 to 5 and features working on art projects, playing with toys and puzzles, story time and games. Future dates for junior day are Oct. 19, Nov. 9, Dec. 8, Dec. 16, Feb. 8, March 14, and Apr. 11 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Lange Park.
“Family Bingo Nights” will be held Sept. 28, Oct. 26, Nov. 30, Dec. 14, Feb. 22, March 21, Apr. 18, and May 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Thompson Room at Lange Park. Pizza will be served and prizes given to bingo game winners. It is suggested to register with the park district a week before the event.
The “Cool Candy Crafts” event for kids aged 5 through 9 will be held from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5 at Lange Park. Participants create edible treats based on the season and/or an upcoming holiday along with a candy clown and spider.
Cost is $10 for residents and $14 for non-residents.
