Summer Events In Rosemont!

Hold onto your hats! This July and August, Rosemont will be host to a slew of summer events for every age -- many of them blockbuster programs.

In addition to preparing for the onslaught of superheroes in August, the Donald E. Stephens (DES) Convention Center will host the Anime Midwest conference beginning this week, Friday, July 3, running through July 5.

The Fashion and Jewelry show sparkles from July 16-19 at the DES followed by the July 25-28 Windy City Gift Show.

Sports fans and collectors will gather at the DES from July 29 through Aug. 2 for the National Sports Collectible Convention.

Adding more sparkle to the DES will be the International Gem and Jewelry show set for Aug. 7-9.
Money, money, money will be the key topic during the Aug. 8-16 World’s Fair of Money Convention at the DES.

Holy smokes. Batman, Robin, Wolfman and a wide variety of comic heroes, artists and celebrities for everyone will converge on the DES from Aug. 20-23 for the annual Wizard World Chicago Comic Con.

Counting the profits may be part of the agenda during the DES’ Aug. 26-27 Midwest Accounting and Finance Showcase.

In July and August, Rosemont Theatre will be host to Alabama July 10; BTS (Bangtan Boys) July 24; and Juanes, Aug. 15. Most shows begin at 8 p.m.

Allstate Arena’s July schedule is full with a variety of events including the WWE Monday Night Raw scheduled for July 6; July 10 Chicago Sky vs. Minnesota game; July 12 Chicago Sky vs. Connecticut; July 15 Chicago Sky vs. Washington; July 19 Chicago Sky vs. San Antonio; and the July 21 Chicago Sky vs. Atlanta.

Also in July, the arena will be host to the Marco Antonio Solis concert July 25; Shania Twain July 29; and the Chicago Sky vs. Los Angeles game July 31.

Kelly Clarkson will belt out the tunes Aug. 1 kicking off August events at the arena followed by the Aug. 2 Chicago Sky vs. Washington game; Aug. 4 Chicago Sky vs. Indiana; the Aug. 7 Chicago Sky vs. New York game; the Motley Crue Aug. 8 concert; Aug. 9 Chicago Sky vs. Phoenix; Aug. 21 Chicago Sky vs. Washington; the Aug. 23 Chayanne concert; and the Aug. 30 Chicago Sky vs. Connecticut game.

Throughout July and August, MB Financial Park at Rosemont will be rocking with free country concerts on Tuesdays and free rock concerts and fireworks on Thursdays on the great lawn. The events at 5501 Park Place start at 7 p.m. with refreshment tents lining the Park offering a variety of foods and drink.

“The concert last Thursday was awesome. We had approximately 2,000 people. We have had a great turnout so far this year and are looking forward to the next two months,” Sarah Clemmensen, MB Financial Park event manager told the Journal & Topics Newspapers this week. During July and August the Chicago Bandits will play through Aug. 18 at the Ballpark at Rosemont, 34 Jennie Finch Way.

The national fastpitch team will be host to several promotional nights during home games through the remainder of the season including poster giveaway games; Kids Run the Bases Nights; Academic Nights; Youth Day Thursday, July 23; Cancer Awareness Night Friday, July 24; Faith and Family Night Friday, July 31; and the Les Turner ALS Night Tuesday, Aug. 4.
