Catch some new horror flicks or submit your own for a chance to win $1,000 as the Bruce Campbell Horror Film Festival returns to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont for its third year this August.

The August 18-21 event is held in tandem with Wizard World Comic Con. In addition to the DES, last year’s film fest used the nearby Muvico theaters to screen films.

Actor Bruce Campbell, from Michigan, will again host the festival. Campbell has been featured on many TV shows including “Burn Notice”, “Fargo”, “Psych”, “The Replacements”, and “Xena: Warrior Princess.” In 1981, he also helped produce and starred in the movie “The Evil Dead.”

Dozens of films including U.S. and world premieres of both features and shorts, special anniversary screenings, 35mm repertory screenings, and a variety of special guests will be shown at the August festival in Rosemont.

Aspiring filmmakers can submit films to be considered for the fest. Details and information on how to submit are available at bchff.com. Creators of the best short film could win $1,000 and be considered for distribution on CONtv.

“As the festival enters its third year, we are more excited than ever,” Campbell said. “The number of quality films exploded last year and we hope to have the same type of growth in 2016. Our goal is to become the premiere destination for all things horror, so filmmakers submit your movies."

Additional guest, movie and ticket information is forthcoming. More information can be found at rosemont.com/desconvention.
