After a 12-year absence, Gino’s East restaurant is returning to Rosemont. Rosemont Village Hall, to be exact.
Russel Lubliner feels like he’s going home. “Having the Village and Mayor Stephens as our landlord is just plain awesome".
Mr. Lubliner, Gino’s managing partner, and his staff will make the imminent move to the ground-level space at the Village Hall building, 9501 W. Devon, in Rosemont, in mid-July.
Gino’s East originally opened on Higgins Road, west of River Road in Rosemont, in 1993, and operated there for 11 years, prior to moving to O’Hare Plaza, across the line in Chicago. So, it will all be back to the future for the famous home of the legendary, Chicago-style, deep dish pizza.
Gino’s also offers traditional thin-crust pizzas, pastas, salads, and sandwiches. People can literally eat out at Gino’s East, thanks to the alfresco dining area that stretches across the east side of the building, facing the dramatic new statue and landscaped park that honors the late Mayor Donald E. Stephens.
“We are happy to welcome back Russel and his staff,” said Pam Hogan, chamber director. “Everyone will relish the palate-pleasing and world-famous ‘Deep Dish’pizza that is their trademark.”
“We'll retain nearly all of our employees, and hope that becomes a trend for our long-time customers, too,” Mr. Lubliner explained. “We have employees who have been with us for more than 15 years, who are requested by many loyal customers. That's a real point of difference.”
Mr. Lubliner added that all the services offered at the current location will be offered in Rosemont: “Our dining room and bar are full-service; we offer carry-out and delivery, too.”
