On behalf of the men and women of the Rosemont Public Safety Department I welcome you to our webpage!
Because of Rosemont’s distinctive location, size, and composition a unique method for delivering police, fire, and emergency medical services was adopted back in 1975. The integration of these services has progressed, to meet evolving challenges, into the public safety model we operate by today.
By integrating all of these services into one organization and training our members to operate seamlessly within all of these disciplines we are able to provide an exceptionally safe environment for our residents and guests. The level of service our personnel provide to the community is incomparable. We are able to deliver such extraordinary service because of the dedication of our people and the interoperability of our methods.
Our public safety delivery model necessitates that each sworn officer be fully trained and certified as a police officer, firefighter, and emergency medical technician. Our Public Safety Officers (PSOs) are assigned to Patrol or Fire Suppression.
So that they can respond to emergency medical services (EMS) calls requiring lifesaving measures, as well as fires PSOs assigned to Patrol carry specialized equipment in their squad car. PSOs assigned to Fire Suppression are furnished with police equipment and can respond to law enforcement incidents as needed.
In addition to delivering police and fire services, the Rosemont Public Safety Department supplies a multitude of other services such as 911 Communications, Fire & Crime Prevention, Crime Free Housing, and Records. All of which are provided by a dedicated and professional staff of sworn and civilian employees.
Traffic direction and crowd control at our myriad of venues; Allstate Arena, Rosemont Theatre, Stephens Convention Center, Parkway Bank Park, and The Ballpark at Rosemont, is provided by members of the Rosemont Public Safety Auxiliary, a group of 200 well-trained and enthusiastic part-time civilian employees.
Thank you for taking the time to peruse our webpages. It is our expectation that you will find the information contained within these pages informative and helpful.
I am proud of our organization and honored to be serving the Rosemont community.
Donald E. Stephens III
Superintendent of Public Safety
