Professional Standards Division

The Professional Standards Division falls under the Office of the Superintendent, and reports directly to the Superintendent of Public Safety.  The Professional Standards Division is overseen by Commander Fiorito. Working within the Division to assist him is Sgt. Nick D3X_4615Koletsos (Training & Education Unit) and Sgt. Donald Koletsos (Internal Affairs Unit) as well as Secretary Alicia Nardella and Elizabeth Petruzzelli. The division is tasked with ensuring that a high standard of professionalism and excellence in Public Safety continues to exist within the Village of Rosemont.
The Professional Standards Division is responsible for the following: developing and reviewing policy, following up on citizen complaints and conducting internal investigations. In addition, the Professional Standards Division manages the Department’s Field Training Programs, managing and administering all Departmental training, and examining procedures throughout the department for efficiency and policy compliance. The Division is also tasked with conducting background investigations for all new sworn full-time hires and auxiliary candidates.
The Professional Standards Division looks for opportunities to streamline procedures and improve systems to make the department more efficient, effective and accountable.
