New Village App Helps Visitors Navigate Rosemont

Rosemont’s recently-redesigned “Welcome to Rosemont” app could benefit the village’s daily thousands of visitors.

“It’s much easier to navigate,” said Rosemont Convention and Tourism Bureau General Manager William Anderson. “It’s much nicer.”

The original Rosemont app -- a digital guide to the village -- debuted eight years ago. Anderson worked with Stacey Schuster and her team in Rosemont’s Creative and Design Department on the spruced-up version, which offers users a more visual, interactive experience.

Anderson said the app is geared toward the out-of-town guest looking for a quick entryway into understanding the village. The village’s 75,000-to-100,000 daily visitors will easily be able to navigate through the town and its nearly 20 hotels and various dining offerings.

“You’ve got everything you actually need if you came from out of town,” Anderson said.
The free app includes a visitor’s guide, photos, video tours and an event directory.

Maps of Rosemont are interactive and give users the capability of zooming in and out, as well as using them on or offline. The tool helps visitors see all that Rosemont has to offer and then navigates them to where they need to go. Important phone numbers, websites and directions can also be found via the app.

All of the app’s features can be streamed or downloaded, so Rosemont visitors can access the app’s tools when they’re disconnected and on the go.

Anderson said the app is advertised at the Fashion Outlets and at MB Financial Park to encourage curious visitors to download it. They also encourage conference and convention management teams to include information about the app in attendee welcome packages.

Looking forward, Anderson said he is interested in partnerships with hotels and perhaps getting a card with download information into hotel guest rooms.

“Our goal is to have our attendees from out of town or our leisure out of town people to learn about Rosemont and see what we actually have is a lot,” Anderson said. “You just can’t get any better than what we have.”
