Rosemont Bursts With Holiday Activities
From a New Year’s Eve bash to Christmas carolers, December in Rosemont is a busy time for residents and visitors alike.
From 5 to 8 p.m. through Dec. 23 and this weekend, MB Financial Park at Rosemont features Christmas carolers. The Merry Maskers will also perform from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Christmas Eve. They have performed on radio, TV and throughout the area for 17 years. At the Park, they will stroll and sing a selection of 80 carols.
Ice skating at MB Park continues from 4 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) and Thursday; and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday. After that, skating dates and hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve); 4 to 11 p.m. Dec. 25 (Christmas Day); 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 31-Jan. 1 (New Year’s Eve/Day); and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Jan. 1.
No admission is charged to skate on the NHL-sized rink. Those bringing their own skates can skate for free. Skates can also be rented on-site for a fee. Refreshments are also available.
The Frozemont Holiday Pub Crawl runs from 6 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at MB Park. The pub crawl begins at Adobe Gila’s and runs through the bars at the Park.
As for sports, the Chicago Wolves play the Milwaukee Admirals Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Allstate Arena.
Even more entertainment is on tap as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra performs “Ghosts of Christmas Eve” twice Friday, Dec. 23 at the Allstate Arena, first at 3:30 p.m. and then again at 8 p.m.
December ends with a bang in Rosemont as the “Reaction NYE 2016” party at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center runs from 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 through 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1. The ticketed event includes a main dance area called “The Warehouse”, an “Arcade Stage” and a “Silent Disco”.
