Rosemont Ranks High As Travel Destination
Village Described As 'Prime Spot'
Reviewers with travel website Expedia recently voted Rosemont No. 21 out of the 50 top travel destinations in North America.
In this spot, Rosemont beat several well-known travel destinations including Key West, FL; New York City; New Orleans; Napa, CA; and Laguna Beach, CA. Chicago was ranked just three spots higher.
“We worked hard on creating the destination that we are,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “We are very pleased.”
According to Expedia’s travel blog, the list was compiled from North American cities with over 600 reviews on the company website that received the highest rankings -- between 3.9 and 5 star ratings. Categories used to determine the ratings included friendliness, cleanliness, comfort and overall quality.
Topping the list of cities were Wailea, HI; Quebec City and Springdale, UT.
Rosemont landed on the list due to its hotels, restaurants and entertainment options, said the blog. The community is described as an “untouched village,” and “a prime spot from which to enjoy the region.”
Stephens said Rosemont should become even more of a destination in the near future with renovations set for MB Financial Park tenants Five Roses and Kings Bowl, as well as a new minor league baseball stadium.
