Rosemont School Tax Levy Increase Hearing Dec. 12

A public hearing on the proposed property tax levy increase of 4.9% over last year for Rosemont School Dist. 78 is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12 in the school cafeteria, 6101 N. Ruby St.

All residents are invited to attend the hearing. To testify during the hearing, contact Dist. 78 Supt. Kevin Anderson at 847-825-0144.

The public hearing will be held just prior to the monthly Dist. 78 Board of Education meeting, also at the school. The public is invited to attend that meeting as well.

Total property taxes for the school in 2015 were $5,471,434. The estimated total to be levied for 2016 is $5,739,535, representing a 4.9% increase over the previous year. Officials said the increase is mainly due to capital improvement projects aimed at upgrading the school.
